Year 12 Agriculture

On Wednesday 6 March, our Year 12 Agriculture class visited the 'Bee-U-tiful Honey' apiary with Miss Greenwood and Mr Guyot. The students assisted Len Verrenkamp and Max Rae with a hive inspection, where they were able to use hive smokers, pull frames from the hive and inspect the bees up close. The apiarists also engaged the students in a Q&A session on the business of beekeeping and honey production. Experiences and information gained on this excursion have assisted with developing Year 12's understanding of the 'Farm Product Study' unit.
