Junior Science

Through the study of science, students investigate phenomena that occur over a range of scales, from the subatomic to the cosmological, from events that take place almost instantaneously to processes occurring over billions of years, from the origins of the universe to contemporary phenomena. As an important part of their science education students examine the historical and ongoing contributions of Australian scientists to international scientific research.

The study of science provides students with the opportunity to examine the impact on their lives of scientific knowledge and its application to their communities and surroundings. This study provides opportunities for students to become independent learners.

Agriculture

The dynamic nature of modern agriculture results from the increasing knowledge and application of current and emerging technologies to the production, processing and marketing of products. An understanding of the relationships between production, processing and consumption enables informed debate about the impact of agricultural practises on society and the environment.
