Write a ‘Book in a Day’ is an annual writing competition that gives students a chance to collaborate, flex their creativity and help make a difference to the lives of kids with cancer.
Teams of 5-10 participants will come together to write and illustrate an entire book. Teams will be given their unique writing parameters on their official writing day, and will have a single school day to complete the challenge. There will be a Stage 4 team comprised of Year 7 and 8, and Stage 5 team comprised of Year 9 and 10 students.
In order to have their book published as an ebook, teams must raise a minimum of $240 before the competition closes on Tuesday 30 September 2025. All funds go directly to the Kids Cancer Project. Students who are successful in making the team will be provided with Cadbury fundraising boxes to be sold outside of school.
To apply for this competition, students will need to provide a sample of their work to Mrs Woodland in the Applied Learning staffroom. Please ensure the student's name is clearly written on the sample.
Illustrators provide a sample that showcases your preferred art style.
Writers provide a 200-300 word descriptive writing sample.
