Henry Kendall enjoyed the presence of visitors who came all the way from China!
On Thursday 12 February, the Year 8 Young Achievers class took part in an amazing experience. The Chinese visitors came to Australia to learn English and to learn about Australian history and culture.
The Year 8 class were paired up with each of the Chinese students and engaged in many activities. Firstly, they enjoyed a tour of the school and exchanged stories about what each of them liked to do at home and at school.
Next Year 8 and their Chinese students had a wonderful and extraordinary Aboriginal experience with "Bruce", a local Aboriginal man. Bruce showed all the kids about Aboriginal tools and what it was like to be an Aboriginal.
After that amazing experience, the students undertook a fun mathematics activity with Ms Muscat, using a fantastic algebra program called Geogebra. Later, Mr Ardley talked to the students about what it means to be Australian, then they all worked in groups run by the Year 8 students and then headed off to lunch. Lunch was an Australian iconic sausage sizzle. This concluded the spectacular day. with a group photo and waves goodbye.
It was an experience that everyone will remember.
