Children's Week 18-26 October 2014

This is an annual event celebrated in Australia during the fourth week of October. Children's Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood. It is also a time for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities.

Sir Peter Cosgrove is the National Patron of Children's Week.

This land we meet on today holds the stories and memories of all Aboriginal people. The land we are upon is Millennia old. Below us and above us the earth and the sky has always taken care of us. I pay my respects to the elders past and present and acknowledge how much they have cared for this nation since the beginning of time.
