HKHS & Students Win Major Awards

HKHS and students win major awards at the University of Wollongong - Faculty of Engineering Awards.

On Friday 29 November during an awards ceremony at the University of Wollongong, Henry Kendall High School was awarded the most outstanding school in New South Wales for Industrial Technology. Major prizes on the night included cash prizes sponsored by the University and industry. The school was awarded a perpetual trophy and $500 cash prize which will be used to assist the purchase of a 3D printer for 2014.

Three students were presented with major individual awards related to their Metals and Engineering Major Projects for the HSC. Adrian Romano (pictured above left) won best student for Industrial Technology for all categories. Joshua Peruch achieved runner up in Metals and Engineering and Jackson Parkes was awarded the Indigenous Student Award.

Oliver Behling and Nicholas Clarke Psaila were finalists in Graphics Technologies, Andrew Cooney and Ellen Myers were finalists in Multimedia. Annie Dai and Ellen Myers were finalists for Design and Technology.

Industrial Technology students Adrian Romano and Andrew Cooney were also recently selected for the prestigious InTech Display which exhibits the very best of HSC Major projects from all students in NSW. This display will be held at Homebush and Orange in 2014. This is a fantastic achievement for both of these students.
