International Women's Day

Last week some of our Fierce group HKHS girls attended an empowering International Women’s Day community event run by Central Coast Women’s Health Centre. We were moved by Melinda Schneider’s powerful personal story shared through her speech and music. Our girls heard important messages about the ways trauma can impact us throughout our lives, continuing to be unapologetically yourself when bullied due to jealousy, and the need for boundaries and self care to avoid burnout. The girls were also incredible advocates for our school and themselves and excitedly shared many brilliant ideas with the CEO for how we can improve outcomes for girls within our community, which we are very keen to put into practice at our school.
