Today was day 4 of our phased return to school with Year 10 attending, as well as our 7/8 class in the Support Unit and Year 12 Visual Arts and Extension Maths students.
Despite being a wet and gloomy day, spirits are high and the opportunity to be back at Henry Kendall welcomed across the board. Year 10 settled into their learning tasks quickly whilst enjoying the opportunity to catch up with friends. Ms McLennan had a busy day catching up with Year 10 to see how they are going and finding out where we need to provide some extra support.
Our Year 12 students made the most of the extended, focused time in their courses. I had the opportunity to spend some time with the Art class and discuss major work development with each student. I am impressed with the conceptual depth balanced with aesthetic sensibility evident in this years works and am excited by the prospect of the completed works - they will be fantastic.
It is also great to see our Support Unit students back to school today and the wonderful connection they have with their teachers.
Tomorrow is our senior school day for mainstream and our support unit students and I look forward to seeing Years 11 and 12, touching base with how they are progressing, as well where we need to target additional support. See you all in the morning!
