Dear Parents/Carers
My apologies for late notification of arrangements relating to the operation of the school next Tuesday 7th December. We had to wait on communication from the Department of Education that was required to be sent out about the strike action. I have attached that communication to this email.
Below is information relevant to our specific school context:
On Tuesday December 7 2021 members of the NSW Teachers Federation will be participating in 24- hour strike action. The teaching staff at Henry Kendall High High School will be among those participating in this action.
Following an assessment regarding the number of teachers likely to participate in the industrial action, it has been determined that the school will only be able to offer absolute minimal supervision. Normal lessons will not be delivered on this day.
Students will be supervised in classrooms and engaging with learning online or through work sheets. These will be discrete activities and delivered by available staff. The normal timetable will not operate and learning activities on the day will be discrete and determined by staff availability. Sport will not operate on this day.
Level 3 COVID safety plans will be in place, including usual hygiene practices, well ventilated learning spaces, physical distancing, masks and minimising the mingling of cohorts where possible.
I apologise for the inconvenience and confirm that school will resume on Wednesday December 8th as normal.
