Special Education Sydney North Athletics

For a number of years now Special Education has supported students with an intellectual or physical disability in the sport of athletics and has seen some excellent results achieved with an average of 3 students each year reaching the Combined High Schools State Carnival. This year was no different and we are pleased to congratulate Ebony Wright, Lateesha Mead and Charlotte Gott for representing the Sydney North region as Henry Kendall High School Students. The results for the events were as follows:

Ebony Wright - 2nd in the girls 16+ years multiclass Long jump
Ebony Wright - 3rd in the girls 16+ years multiclass 100m (Broke the T20 CHS Record)
Lateesha Mead - 4th in the girls 12-15 years multiclass Javelin
Lateesha Mead - 9th in the girls 12-15 years multiclass Long Jump
Lateesha Mead - 11th in the girls 12-15 years multiclass Shot Put
Charlotte Gott - 7th in the girls 12-15 years multiclass 200m

All these girls are to be congratulated for their efforts. Charlotte and Lateesha have only just started their high school careers and show excellent potential for future years. Ebony Wright is now the CHS record holder for the 100m in the 12-15 and 16+ age groups in the T20 class. We are also waiting to hear if she has broken an U18 Australian Record in the T20 class as well!
