Star Struck is a Performing Arts extravaganza presented by the Hunter / Central Coast area of the NSW Department of Education and Communities - http://www.starstruck.schools.nsw.edu.au/home
It features thousands of DEC students from around the region in Dance, Drama, Music and technical production roles throughout the show. In this years show we have three very talented Henry Kendall students performing as vocalists:
Rachel McAndrew (Year 12) - Featured vocalist
Matthew Callaghan (Year 12) - Backing vocalist
Anna Thompson (Year 11) - Featured vocalist
These students are backed by a full 40 piece pop orchestra consisting of students, teachers and professional musicians as well as a 400 voice choir. Ex HKHS CAPA Head Teacher, Dan Wilson and our current CAPA Head Teacher Damien Clift are the Musical Directors for the show, being held at Newcastle Entertainment Centre. Dan and Damien also write and arrange the majority of the music fo the singers and orchestra.
There are four shows - two shows on Friday 13 June and two show on Saturday 14 June.
Tickets for Star Struck can be purchased through Ticketek http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?
Hopefully we will see as many HKHS supporters there and Damien Clift has promised to wave from behind the keyboard in the orchestra pit!
