The visit was to support work in class on the role and structure of parliament and the legislative process and how laws are made. Our guide also explained the need for law reform.
Our local member, Chris Holstein took the time to speak to our students while they were in the Legislative Assembly Chamber. Mr Holstein outlined what he does for our electorate, mentioning his plans for Gosford including an improvement of or medical precinct. Mr Holstein also explained why he went into politics in response to a question from one of our legal studies students.
Mr Holstein invited Henry Kendall High School students to email him with their opinion on the current 'one punch laws' which are being passed by our State parliament. Year 11 are planning to do this in Term 2.
