In December 2013, 2000 Special Olympics athletes, 600 coaches and officials, over 4000 volunteers and an estimated 200,000 spectators from over 32 countries in the Asia Pacific region will converge on the City of Newcastle to compete at the first ever Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games 1-7 December 2013.
TEAM AUSTRALIA
In December 2013, over 400 Special Olympics Australia athletes will represent our country at the most spectacular Games ever held for people with an intellectual disability in the Southern Hemisphere - the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games.
We are very proud to announce that two students from our Special Education Unit at Henry Kendall High School have been chosen to represent Australia.

Alexander Shepherd - has been chosen to represent Australia in Athletics.
