Vocational Education and Training (VET)
The VET Faculty wears many hats - chefs hats to hard hats. We offer courses which can contribute to an ATAR as well as leading to the following credentials.
Stage 6: Certificate II in Hospitality Food and Beverage, Certificate II in Primary Industries (Agriculture) and Certificate III in Retail Services .
Stage 5: Certificate I in Hospitality. VET courses provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable skills that may be used in future employment. The courses in Stage 6 have mandatory work placement (35 hours each year) often during school time.

Retail
This course is for students who wish to develop knowledge and skills to commence a career and be an effective employee in the retail service industry.
Pathways to Industry:
- Communication that contributes to productive and harmonious relations across employees and customers.
- Teamwork that contributes to productive working relationships and outcomes.
- Problem solving that contributes to productive outcomes.
- Initiative and enterprise that contribute to innovative outcomes.

- Learning that contributes to ongoing improvement and expansion in employee and company operations and outcomes.

Hospitality
This course is for students who wish to develop knowledge and skills to commence a career and be an effective employee in the hospitality industry.
Pathways to Industry:
Skills gained in this industry transfer to other occupations. Working in the hospitality industry involves:
- Supporting and working with colleagues to meet goals and provide a high level of customer service.
- Developing menus, managing resources, preparing, cooking and serving a range of dishes.
- Providing food and beverage service in a range of settings.
- Providing house keeping and front office services in hotels, motels and resorts.
- Planning and organising events and managing services.
Examples of occupations in the hospitality industry:
- Bar Assistant
- Food and Beverage Manager
- Conference Manager
- Events Coordinator
- Publicity and Sales Manager
- Guest Service Coordinator
- Hotel / Motel Manager
- Manager / Owner of a Small Business
Primary Industries
This course is for students who wish to develop knowledge and skills to commence a career and be an effective employee in the primary industry.
Pathways to Industry:
Skills gained in this industry transfer to other occupations. Working in primary industries involves:
- Dealing with and caring for animals.
- Breeding and growing livestock (dairy, beef, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens) crops and grains.
- Maintaining and using equipment such as tractors, harvesters, bailers and ploughs.
- Overseeing and managing farming operations.
- Developing and producing new products and technologies.
Examples of occupations students can aim for in primary industries:
- Animal Attending

- Horse Care
- Livestock Rearing and Breeding
