Student Services
The faculty brings together a dedicated team of staff who work collaboratively to ensure every student is supported to thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally. Through this integrated model, the Student Services Faculty partners with staff, families, and the wider community to create a culture of care, connection, and high expectations — ensuring all students are equipped to learn well and live well.
The faculty consists of the Head Teacher, Student Services, Learning and Support Teachers, Student Support Officers, Chaplain, Careers and Transition Advisers, School Counsellors, Wellbeing Teachers, English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) Teachers, and our Student Learning Support Officers. In 2026, our team will also welcome a Wellbeing and Health In-Reach Nurse.
Key areas of the faculty include:
Learning Support and Disability Support
Providing tailored academic interventions and targeted learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. The team collaborates closely with classroom teachers, families, and external specialists to design inclusive learning environments where all students can experience success.
Welfare and Wellbeing
Ensuring that students have access to early intervention, counselling, and holistic care. Staff focus on building safe, respectful relationships and fostering resilience, empathy, and positive mental health to support learning and personal growth.
Stage 4 Wellbeing Curriculum
The Stage 4 Wellbeing Curriculum has been tailored to address the challenges faced by students at Henry Kendall High School. It delivers a structured, evidence-informed wellbeing program designed to promote social-emotional learning and respectful relationships through a strength-based approach.
English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)
Supporting students from linguistically diverse backgrounds to build confidence and proficiency in English while celebrating and valuing the cultural richness they bring to our school community.
Counselling
Our counselling service provides support, guidance, and encouragement throughout your time at high school. If you are worried about something or finding it difficult to cope, our professionally trained staff offer a confidential service where you can discuss any issue — whether personal or related to your studies.
Careers and Transition
The Careers Advisers provide information, guidance, and advice to help students explore education and career options, create résumés, search and apply for jobs, and plan further study such as university and future learning pathways. Careers Advisers also liaise with parents, teachers, employers, community agencies, and training providers.
